上周我们少儿英语故事说到Andrew和Oxford抓住了巴士上小偷。为了迎接新学期，Rolin老师组织大家一起打扫教室卫生。

　　Teacher Rolin assigned Victor and Iris to clean the windows, Oxford and Junior to wipe the tables and chairs, Pandora and Andrew to clean the floor, and Jimmy was assigned to wipe the blackboard.

　　Rolin老师安排Victor和Iris擦窗户，Oxford和Junior擦桌椅，Pandora和Andrew打扫地面，Jimmy则被安排去擦黑板。大家兴高采烈地拿起工具，开始大扫除。

　　The day went by quickly, and it wasn’t long before it was time to go home. Teacher Rolin came into the classroom to have a look, and saw clean tables and chairs, a clean floor and shining glass. Teacher Rolin was very happy, but turned around to see chalk marks and dust all over the blackboard. It was just as dirty as it was before.

　　时间飞快流逝，不一会儿的工夫就到该回家的时候了。Rolin老师来到教室，看到桌椅地面一尘不染，干净的窗户发着光，Rolin老师非常开心。可一转头却发现黑板上全是粉笔的印记，居然跟之前一样脏。

　　Everyone looked at the blackboard, and couldn’t help but start complaining: “Teacher Rolin, we all worked very hard to clean, but Jimmy just sat there. He didn’t do his part, and he didn’t help anyone else.”

　　大家看着黑板，忍不住抱怨起来：“Rolin老师，我们都在努力打扫，只有Jimmy一个人坐在位子上，不擦黑板，也不帮我们的忙。”

　　Teacher Rolin patiently asked, “Jimmy, everyone else finished their assignments. Why didn’t you?” Jimmy scratched his head, and replied.

　　“At home, Mom never makes me do housework, so I’ve never done any cleaning. I think it’s something Mom should do.”

　　Rolin老师耐心地问道：“Jimmy，大家都完成了各自的打扫任务，为什么你不完成?”Jimmy挠挠头，“我在家里的时候，妈妈从来不让我干家务活，所以我从来没有打扫过卫生。我觉得打扫卫生就是妈妈应该做的事情”。

　　Teacher Rolin laughed. “Your mother doesn’t make you do housework because she’s worried you’ll be tired. But you live there, so you also bear the responsibility to keep the house clean. You should share the housework, instead of leaving it all for your mother to do. It’s the same with cleaning. You use this classroom and study in here along with everyone else, so you must also help to keep the classroom clean by completing your assigned job. Do you understand?”

　　Rolin老师笑了笑：“你的妈妈不让你做家务，是因为怕你辛苦。可你既然住在家里，就有责任和义务保持家的卫生。你要分担家务活，而不是把事情全都推给妈妈。大扫除也是同样的道理。你既然和大家一起在这个教室里学习，那么就要跟大家一起维持教室的卫生，完成各自的打扫任务，明白了吗?”

　　Jimmy’s face went red with embarrassment, and he finally understood how hard his mother worked, as well as the importance of sharing the housework. He grabbed a rag, and with everyone’s help, quickly wiped the blackboard clean.

　　Jimmy羞红了脸，他这才明白妈妈的辛苦，也理解了分担家务的重要性。他拿出抹布，在大家的帮助下，很快将黑板擦干净了。

　　Everyone had originally planned to go to the park to play after they were finished cleaning, but Victor suddenly wasn’t feeling well. Why? We’ll find out next week.
